Falling into Fashion

A little girl who was lost, until she found the wonderful world of fashion.

Music You Don’t Want to Share (But Really Should)

Have you ever had a song that you love so much, you listen to it every night, but you’ve actually never shared it with even your best friend?  Well, if you don’t this is the playlist for you! Just kidding. (Not Really) But anyway, here’s a playlist of some of my current and all-time favorites. Just warning you, it gets pretty, err, dramatic at the end. I mean, you can’t legally have a playlist without one Alan Menken Disney Song. Yes, really.

All (un)tangled up

My hair was a disaster: dry, had overboard tangles, split ends, you name it. I also have extremely curly hair, and I’ve had a lot of trouble finding products that work on my hair. On my trip to Sephora today, I discovered Carol’s Daughter. Their Olive Oil infusion at home Treatment worked wonders on my hair. I don’t think my hair has looked so healthy and shiny in, gosh, I don’t even know! One really neat thing about the company is that it is mostly natural ingredients, and founder Lisa Price created the first products in her kitchen 13 years ago. I will definitely be trying out their Curl Perfecting Shampoo and Conditioner.

Illustrated Beauties

One thing that I’ve always loved, even if I didn’t really realize it, was fashion illustrating. Right now, I’m obsessed with the work Izak Zenou. His work is really bright and cheery, but the girls that he illustrates seem so real. Almost like you’ve seen them walk down the street before. And he illustrates for Celine, which is basically one of the coolest things on the planet. His collaboration with Sephora Collection makeup is the perfect colors. Lots of pinks, reds, and not-so-basic browns. I love the eyeshadow pallet because they are colors that really complement my hazel eyes (or really any eye color). And the lipstick duos… let’s just say I will be on the lookout for those on my next trip to Sephora.

Need to survive

When I think of tie-dye, I see classic summer. This T-shirt is so cool because it’s so summery, but paired with a black pencil skirt (or anything really along the lines of that) it would be genius for fall.

Current Obsession: Boy. By Band of Outsiders

Boy. By Band of Outsiders

I’m a huge fan of Scott Sternberg’s work in creating the label Band of Outsiders. I actually really like his menswear too. The real icing on the cake for me, though, is it’s brother line Boy. By Band of Outsiders. Their sister label Girl. By Band of Outsiders is great with its Boyish turned feminine prints and styles. But, Boy. By Band of Outsiders is so original. In my opinion it’s really hard to find new innovative things in fashion. Boy. is definitely it. I’m crazy-obsessed with the blue and white pinstripes and precise tailoring. I like the fact that it’s a mostly separates label, but they do have gorgeous dresses, one shown here
